Yeah, geez, obviously your $450 van should come with a $450 stereo. How lucky are you?
This van is fully worthy of restoring. It has an amazing feature setup for an LE. And only 153K. I would suggest dumping some real money into the rust work and getting it up to snuff. I know you only paid $400 for it...but it's a $2000 van. And a $1000 worth of body work would make it a $4000 van.

The steering and suspensionare really good. Brakes are spongy. Those slits in the sides of the top are for strip lights, they were removed but wiring is still there. And that's my '86 bumper for inspection purposes. My brother says the thing feels faster with exhaust modifications and gets better mpg than before.

When I bought my 1st van the guy I bought it from said the power steering pump was broken. I did some poking around and found a massive hole in the hose from the reservoir to the pump. $10 fix, remember to look for the simplest solutions first. Good score on that 4x4, hope I can get a similar deal on my next one.

I've never seen a top like that on a Toyota. It looks like my buddy's "Get-A-Way" van (Chevy) perhaps the same company?
I bought a 4wd 5-spd from RI on this site with about that much rust. It made it more difficult to work on teh underside (broke a few bolts here and there) but over-all is just a cosmetic thing IMO.
There was a blue 88 4wd 5-spd for sale on the Seattle CL a couple weeks ago. I was actually out there for something else and rang that fella's phone off the hook. He would call me back or have his strange girlfriend call back, promise to meet up with me, not show up, then ask if I can put a deposit on the van before seeing it. I kept telling him if it checks out, I'll pay him the whole amount in cash (just meet up with me!!!) he finally gave up calling me back and presum'ably sold it 3 times over. Sad, it was only $800 bucks. Maybe someone here bought it?
Anyway, very cool find. East coast 80's Toyota anything is hard to find. Less sold and rust kills them by late 90's. If you ever need a home for that top....
