There is one area on the metro that if its rusted one should stay away (unless you're harvesting XFi parts, which is how I got 6 spare XFi motors/trans) its the lower control arm where the front A-arm connects to the uni-body. When they break due to rust and stress, the car is done. If rust isn't an issue, its a deal (shoot, I'll take it if you don't) you might want to inquire as to whether either the engine and/or trans has been swapped out. If so, dollars to donuts it no longer has an XFi drivetrain. What is the mileage on the clock? If its 150k or less, prolly orig motor. If it just needs cosmetic work, buy it! The MPGs depend on how you drive. As they age, getting extreme mpgs is harder (only 48-50!!) But if you drive nice and study on the freeway, mid-upper 50s no problem. I've pulled 60-67 before, but takes more work and good gas (no eth). I have loads of parts so if you jump, let me know. Metros are like our vans, good vehicles that just need attention b/c of age. Worth it and easy to maintain. Brenton
